A Florida building contractor license is not handed out just because somebody owns a truck, a trailer, and a set of tools. Licensed contractors have to meet state requirements, prove experience, pass testing, show financial responsibility, carry proper insurance, and operate under the oversight of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
